AURA’s Community Investments group has been purchasing tax credits since 1987. We have in-depth knowledge of affordable housing development and finance, which allows our staff to provide insight and expertise on the structure of any tax credit development.
Linda Hill first joined AURA in 2004 and rejoined in April of 2015. Linda had previously been at AURA from 2004 to 2011. She has been in the affordable housing industry for over 18 years. Her experience includes portfolio management of affordable housing debt instruments, asset management of Federal Tax Credit investments, workouts on commercial mortgage loans and affordable housing investments. Between 2011 and 2015, Linda was employed by Alliant Capital, a national Tax Credit syndicator, as the Senior Vice President of Acquisitions/Originations. Linda returned to AURA to manage the Tax Credit production group. Linda’s previous employment by AURA was on both the Asset Management and Production side of Community Investments. She started as a Senior Asset Manager and became responsible for the production side of Community Investments including origination, acquisition, underwriting and closing the AUSA Tax Credit transactions. Ms. Hill received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Assumption College
Earl Chase joined AURA in 2016. Earl is a Senior Director for Community Investments Production. In his role as Senior Director, Earl is responsible for originating, structuring, underwriting, and closing tax credit investments. Prior to joining AURA, he worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he originated, structured, negotiated and closed various debt products associated with Low Income Housing Tax Credit developments primarily in the Greater Midwest. Earl underwrote new Low Income Housing Tax Credit transactions at JPMorgan Chase and also secured construction financing along with joint venture partner equity for the new construction of institutional grade multifamily projects in major east coast US markets for The Hanover Company. Earl received his BS in Computer Science from Lincoln University (PA); MS in Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh; and his MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Gary Howe joined AURA in 2008. Gary is a Director for Community Investments Production. In his role as Director, Gary is responsible for originating, structuring, underwriting, and closing tax credit investments. Prior to joining AURA, he worked at The Richman Group Affordable Housing Corporation, where he underwrote and closed Low Income Housing Tax Credit investments in the eastern and southeastern United States. Gary also performed financial reporting and auditing of real estate investments for Credit Suisse and Arthur Andersen. Gary received his BA in Commerce and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Virginia.
Leila Ahmadifar joined AURA in 2015 as Senior Director in the Community Investments group. In her role as Senior Director, Leila is responsible for the originations, structuring, underwriting and closing of tax credit investments nationally as well as preservation and other investment opportunities related to affordable housing. She is an established industry professional with over 20 years of experience in acquiring and closing complex affordable housing transactions, in both the primary and secondary markets. Leila was formerly the Director of Low Income Housing Tax Credit Investments for the Structured Lending and Investments Group, a business within Citigroup's Municipal Securities Division. Prior to Citi, Leila held underwriting and acquisitions positions at various syndicators. Leila is the former President of the Affordable Housing Investors Council (AHIC). She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston University and an MS in Real Estate from Columbia University.
