Agricultural Debt's Leadership Team
Since 1995, AURA’s Agricultural Debt group has been dedicated to the credit needs of the agricultural community. We offer sources of capital and understand that the key to success is understanding a business’ unique needs.
Steve Noonan, Senior Vice President, is responsible for AURA's Agribusiness Group. Previously, Steve worked for AURA as a commercial real estate loan officer. Prior to joining AURA in 1989, he worked as a commercial real estate loan officer for The Principal Financial Group in Des Moines, Iowa. Steve has over 29 years of investment experience, which includes investments in agricultural and commercial real estate as well as natural resource investments, and has a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Loras College.
Mike Mercure joined AURA in 1995. Mike is a Senior Director in the AgriFinance Group. In his role as Senior Director, Mike is responsible for origination, underwriting and portfolio management for AURA's and unaffiliated clients’ agricultural loan portfolios. Mike also is involved in AURA’s oil/gas and renewable energy equity investments. Prior to assuming his current role, Mike served as an underwriter within the Central US Region of AURA’s Commercial Mortgage Loan Origination Group. Prior to joining AURA full-time, Mike completed two internships within AURA's Commercial Mortgage Loan Origination Group. Mike received his BA in Finance with a Real Estate Emphasis from the University of Northern Iowa.
Paul Mier joined AURA in 1995. Paul is a Senior Director in the AgriFinance Group. In his role as Senior Director, Paul is responsible for originating and underwriting agricultural real estate loans; servicing and monitoring of existing accounts; identifying and developing new market opportunities; and providing oversight for AURA’s Timberland Equity Portfolio. Prior to joining AURA, Paul served in various management capacities in the Agricultural Investment Department at John Hancock Financial Services and with The Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York in its Agricultural Investment Department. Paul received his BS in Environmental Science and his MS in Agricultural Economics from Rutgers University.
Dan Nafziger joined AURA in 1998. Dan is a Senior Director in the AgriFinance Group. In his role as Senior Director, Dan is responsible for the solicitation, negotiation, structuring, and write-up of proposed agricultural and agribusiness secured long term real estate loans. Secondary duties consist of tracking transactions until funding as well as ongoing monitoring thereafter. Prior to joining AURA, Dan held several positions of increasing responsibility within MetLife’s Ag Investment Department. Dan is active in numerous Ag Clubs and was previously chosen as one of 30 future Agricultural Leaders in the State of Illinois. Dan received his dual BA degrees in Agribusiness and Agricultural Economics from Illinois State University.
