The Applied Research group provides timely portfolio and market-level tracking through comprehensive reports. The group is staffed to:
- Provide market reconnaissance, including macroeconomic, national commercial real estate market and capital market reports
- Examine and generate real-time summaries of over 30 independent economic data series
- Monitor market activity in fixed income securities
- Examine economic and commercial real estate activities
Applied Research has access to numerous national data sources. Clients benefit from national networking due to membership in professional organizations and relationships with investors.
Additionally, the Applied Research group provides counsel for many areas of Aegon, including CMBS portfolio management, strategic planning, portfolio acquisitions and private placements. As needed, Applied Research assists the Valuation Group by reviewing appraisals, inspecting collateral, analyzing real estate income, evaluating submarket conditions and identifying real estate risks.
